Unlike its European offerings, the North American-spec models will come with standard all-wheel-drive (AWD) and feature not only a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offering utilizing the Jeep Compass 4xe’s propulsion system with a larger 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack but a North American-specific turbocharged 2.0-liter (GME-T4) inline-four-cylinder engine from its big brother the Stelvio.
Alfa Romeo CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato was on hand for the event. He posted several photos from a dealer/media event in Fort Lauderdale before the race.
#Tonale hit #Florida and the southeast of the US, key market for us, the day before the #MiamiGP with an event dedicated to the media and dealers in Fort Lauderdale. What an electrifying mood! Thanks @ValtteriBottas and @ZhouGuanyu24 for visiting us and good luck for the race!” – Jean-Philippe Imparato on Twitter

Earlier this week, we saw the first photos of the Tonale’s North American Dodge sibling: the 2023 Dodge Hornet. Looking very much like the Tonale, it will be interesting to see how both vehicles with similar powertrain and overall looks will do in a market together.
